A: MMTC is the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center, one of 59 not-for-profit NIST - MEP centers in the United States.
Q: What is NIST - MEP?
A: The National Institute of Standards and Technology - Manufacturing Extension Partnership network. As part of this partnership MMTC is able to take advantage
of a very large network of business assistance centers and make use of the best
practices emerging from the network.

A: To enhance the global competitiveness of Michigan’s small and midsized manufacturers.
Q: What are MMTC’s qualifications to work with hospitals?
A: For more than 16 years MMTC has been helping manufacturing companies improve
operations by designing more efficient processes, removing waste from processes
and training clients in LEAN and other process improvement techniques. When viewed as
processes most types of organizations are very similar. Removing waste and making
those processes more efficient requires the application of similar techniques.
MMTC has worked successfully with many hospitals, large and small.

A: MMTC provides classroom training and customized business improvement solutions
to organizations. Solutions involve the implementation of LEAN Business Solutions,
Six Sigma methodology, Quality Management Systems, Market/Customer Diversification
and others.

A: Yes, MMTC has full-time staff who are experienced in working with hospitals to
train staff and apply process improvements techniques such as: LEAN, Six Sigma,
Quality Management, etc.
